24 hours in Vienna and the stylish Ruby Sofie Hotel

Vienna, Karlsplatz
If you’re attempting to plan a short trip to the beautiful city of Vienna, then you may be struggling with trying to pick from the multitude of options to fill your day with. Though you will probably have time for much more than just these if staying over 24 hours, here are  my five absolute must-do things when visiting Vienna…

1. Walk Through the Ring
This popular spot is made up of impressive and beautiful architectures all rich in history and culture that allow you to see a truly glorious side of Vienna. Walk along the road and find yourself surrounded by prominent sights like City Hall, Hofburg Palace, Parliament and the very well known Opera House. Grab one of the city’s famous cup of coffees along the way and you’ve got the perfect recipe for your perfect first day in Vienna.

2. Head to Naschmarkt
As the most popular market throughout all of Vienna, how could you not pay a visit? Stalls filled with delicious cheese, pastries, meats, fruits and vegetables from all over the world and exotic herbs, this is one place you will definitely not want to miss out on!

3. Dig into the Food
It’s no secret that Austria is home to some rather tasty dishes and that with any trip to this city you are sure to be left far from hungry! Start your day off by ordering the famous Apfelstrudel, a traditional Viennese strudel made of thin layered pastry and filled to the brim with apple, cinnamon, sugar and raisins…pair it with a cup of coffee and you’re guaranteed
an excellent start to your day. For lunch, make it a Wiener Schnitzel that’ll leave you feeling full and satisfied. End your meal with pieces of fluffy, caramelized pancake lightly covered with powder sugar called Kaiserscharrn.

4. Wander About Lainzer Tiergarten
If you’re looking for a way to get outside the hustle and bustle of the city, then this is the perfect option. A wildlife preserve that’s 80% covered in woodland, Lainzer Tiergarten is ideal for long and peaceful strolls as well as a visit to some of the several inviting coffee shops and cafes you’ll find along the way.
5. Visit the Oldest Zoo in the World
Founded back in 1752, Tiergarten Schonbrunn still draws in over two million visitors per year all lining up to see the adorable baby panda, elephants and an additional 500 animal species all who have found a home in this world famous zoo. No trip to Vienna is complete with a visit to this historic, fun and exciting sight!

Where to stay in style in Vienna

Ruby Sofie is located f Vienna’s 3rd Landstraße district, near the center of Vienna, easy reach to main attractions.  I walked from the hotel to Naschmarkt(food market) it took about 20 minutes and along the way I crossed  the Ring (Stadtpark side) The hotel is an oasis of beauty and comfort, even in small areas. The rooms and the communal areas are well equipped, and perfect mood lighting completes the scenery.

Textured wood and special design classics and vintage pieces can be found in many places in the hotel. Original accessories and historical details let you re-experience the exciting history of Vienna “Sofiensäle” this way you become part of its exciting history.I really enjoyed my stay at Ruby Sofie. This is my kind of hotel, modern luxury,  stunning design accents and fussy-free attitude.

Ruby Sofie, bar

A perfect place to work and relax, just like the big stage to celebrate, dancing (there’s a massive room for hire)  and exciting people encounter. Good drinks and perfect music at the bar/reception.  Enjoy the atmosphere, let yourself go and spend the evening or the night informal and casual, urban and real.

Galley Kitchen on the 5th floor of the hotel, there is everything useful and nice for our stay, free hot drinks, and an iron/ironing board. It makes  you can feel at home away from home.

The room: clean, spacious and super comfortable. Beautiful materials, smart design and technology in one gorgeous space! Free WiFi, luxurious bed, stylish and intuitive design, HD flat screen Samsung TV , Walk-in shower with raindance showerhead (below), air-conditioning, In-room safe (large enough for your laptop).

Ruby Sofie, the wow room from €145/night

At this hotel attention to the food is taking seriously. Many organic quality ingredients and local bakeries, suppliers, and small manufacturers supply their products. The breakfast buffet is simple and elegant – They do not offer everything – but the right (and at a fair price) and organic fare.

Hi Linda, It's not the most expensive European destination. If you are on budget perhaps Airbnb would be a solution for accommodation for the family. Go now that the pound is strong!
