I went for dinner at my friend’s house in Balham and on the way out we found some green tomatoes. I picked 4 of them and took them home. I never cooked green tomatoes so I thought I try something different. Here is the delicious result: green chilli jam. Great on the cheese board!
Hot&Chilli – Green Chilli Jam recipe
yield: 2 jars of 200ml
Ingredients
30gr of greenchillies, deseeded and finely chopped
90gr of white onions peeled and roughly chopped
90gr of green peppers roughly diced
250gr of green tomatoes (about 4 medium), diced
250gr of green tomatoes (about 4 medium), diced
juice of ½ lime
150gr of caster sugar
50ml white wine vinegar
1 clove of garlic
finely chopped
finely chopped
1 tbsp of Ponzu
1 tsp of cardamon powder
1tsp of salt
Method
1.add all ingredients to a pan
2.let it simmer for 40mins, stirring constantly until the mixture has become slightly thickened. The jam will become thicker as it gets colder.
3.pour into sterilised jars.

Ooo I like the sound of this a lot! Now to get me some green tomatoes (didn't grow any this year). I'm guessing a jar of this would be perfect around Christmas with all the cold turkey and ham crying out for some oomph. Like it.
