Petersham Nurseries has been on my wish list for years so I grabbed the opportunity to go to Stephanie Alexander’s new book signing by Quadrille Publishing. This book has been adapted for the UK market. Restaurateur, food writer and hero, Stephanie is Australian’s best loved cook writer and now I can see why. Her inspirational program aims to get children growing, cooking and talking their own food. Getting a better mutual comprehension between culinary and variety of cultures. In 2004, she set up Kitchen Gardens project in Melbourne’s Collingwood College. She has since been campaigning for more schools to introduce Kitchen Gardens into primary schools.

The setting for book signing couldn’t be more perfect.
Petersham Nurseries has a Michelin star cafe, with award-winning Australian chef and food writer, Skye Gyngell at the helm. This summer Skye and her team will be making their debut at Wilderness festival, in Oxfordshire in August. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to eat at the restaurant. I will definitely be back. The nursery sells a vast selection of plants, garden and outdoor related products as well as vintage furniture, ceramics and glass.

I just love Stephanie Alexander and Petersham Nursery – wish I could have gone to this!
I love her determination and there were lots of Australians families with her old publications to be signed and her talk was truly inspirational. It was worthwhile the trip to Petersham Nurseries in a very early Saturday morning! Definitely going back to try the restaurant.
