Ocado mealtime Masterclass

I was intrigued by an email I received from the Great British Chefs. It was a request to take part in their virtual cooking masterclass in conjunction with Ocado on G+ hangout and to be broadcasted on YouTube. I have taken part in a twitter cook-a-long before and It was great fun. I thought this would be great opportunity to cook some serious food with  Michellin star chefs without leaving home. Ocado provided the ingredients. We were given instructions on how to set up G+ hangout, details of the recipes and chefs taking part in the experiment.
The recipes all featured at the Great Bristish Chefs site:
Scotch Eggs with Galton Blackiston
Curried Chicken Kiev with Simon Hulstone –
The set up:
If you had the opportunity to come to mine, you would know that my kitchen is tiny, so plan, prep and a good schedule is primordial. Saying that, I am not always so organised…
I took part in two virtual masterclasses – Curried chicken Kiev and Pimm’s Jelly.
so two sets of prep took place beforehand. I had help from my friend Angel who prepped most of the vegetables while I prepped the quantities of ingredients, pots, pans and equipments for each recipe.
My first set up and result: Curried Chicken Kiev  with Simon Hulstone

This is soooo good!
My second set up and results: Pimm’s Jelly with cucumber ice cream by Josh Eggleton
Cocktail in desert form. Delicious and very refreshing.  The cucumber ice cream was a revelation. My version was more like a sorbet. Strange but nice summery taste.
The whole experience was very exciting. It was quite difficult to keep pace with the chefs as they cooked quite quickly their recipes.  My curried chicken Kiev was ready about 15 mins after the virtual masterclass finished and the Pimm’s Jelly and Cucumber ice cream were ready in the evening as the jelly and ice cream needs time to set and chill respectively.
All-in-all It was a fabulous experience and now I know how to use G+ hangout too!
Thanks to Great British Chefs, Ocado, the guys from Google James and Simon and the chefs for the opportunity.
