Pizza Union, Kings Cross

Mondays are usually such a downer.  The weekend is definitely over, and you are just about gearing up to the start of a new week. Then an invitation to go to the Pizza Union in London Kings Cross arrives. That cheered me up!

Pizza Union is a trendy artisan pizza bar chain with restaurants in Spitalfields and Kings Cross in London.  Pizza Union prides itself on super speedy service cooking from traditional stone oven.  They operate a buzzer system. You place the order at the counter, pay for it, choose where to sit, after a few minutes the buzzer rings it’s a sign that your order is ready to be collected on the counter. Apart from pizzas, they offer salads, nibbles, olives and Oddono’s Ice cream.  Drinks on sale: beers, soft drinks, juices, water, coffees, teas, wine, and Prosecco.

The staff is super friendly.  The pizzas are made to order, fresh dough and ingredients. Communal tables, industrial decor, funky music, and front glass that lets the light flooding into the restaurant during the day.

Firing a range of ultra-fresh 12-inch Roman-style pizzas, thin crust,  crunchy and cooked in a wood-fired brick oven and lightly topped with your choice of delicious savoury toppings and some fantastic sweet doughs too!   I never had a pizza during my quick visit to Rome; I will make sure I do it next time just to compare. Very reasonable prices it’s a great option for a quick bite, while in the neighborhood.

What is it like eating one? The first bite you taste a little of the
softness of the dough, counterbalanced by a crisp bottom, and the whole
thing just melts in your mouth.  The sweet ones are to die for and so
worth the extra calories!
