Hot&Chilli Unplugged and Happy New Year

In the spirit of New Year and  new beginings,  here is a little bit about Hot & Chilli, who was nominated by Nutmegs Seven, to share some curious facts about  this blog and myself.

Some Brazilian Chillies

What, or who inspired you to start a blog?

I started the blog to have fun, put online my mum’s recipes and to talk about food in general including Brazilian fare and customs.
Who is your foodie inspiration?
My mum. I got the taste for cooking very early on in my life. My mother used to sit me inside the kitchen sink to keep an eye on me while she cooked lunch and dinner.
Your greasiest, batter–splattered food/drink book is?
Some people might cringe now, but I am not ashamed to say it’s Delia Smith. Mr. M says her books are my kitchen bibles.
Who taught you how to cook?
My mum to start with, then various people I encountered along the way and some books.
What is the one kitchen gadget you would  love to have if money were no object?
Anything from the Kitchen Aid range would be great!
Tell us all about the best thing you have ever eaten in another country, where was it, what was it?
I’ve eaten lots in the travels. I can’t name just one, so  I will name the  last best thing: It was a desert by worldwide renowned chef Alex Atala, from D.O.M  in Sao Paulo, Brazil, 7th best restaurant in the world by San Pellegrino. Brazilian Nut tart topped with whiskey ice cream, dark chocolate sauce and sprinkled with salt, pepper and curry powder, garnished with rocket – AMAZING!

Another food blogger’s table you’d like to eat at is?
I’ve eaten at a few bloggers tables and I’ve tried a few single dishes from bloggers too.
I think at present it would be TheLittleLoaf, her blog rocks! Hopefully she will read this and send some of her gorgeous creations.
I’m coming for dinner, what’s your signature dish?
Something Brazilian or a dish with a Brazilian twist.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Sugar and lots of it!

Reveal something about yourself that others would be surprised to learn.

I don’t like hard candies or chewing gun.
Finally.. target other food bloggers with these questions… like a hot potato pass it on..
Happy New Year!
