If you read this blog you should know by now how much I love Cointreau, a terrific orange liqueur hailing from Angers. Just in case you were living on another planet and didn’t know about Cointreau, it is a triple sec-style orange liqueur invented in 1875 in Angers in the Loire Valley. You can read more about here
They are celebrating the Roaring Twenties over the festive period with the Golden Age of Cointreau – limited edition bottle – a nod to the golden era. The bottle is gorgeous, displaying Art Deco curves and vibe. It’s a must in any cocktail cabinet.
And talking about cocktails, Cointreau has more than 350 cocktail recipes. Some were created in the golden age, the 1920s, an era when the most famous cocktails using Cointreau were developed in iconic bars in London, Paris, and further afield.
The Sidecar and White Lady are the most well-known in the cocktail circuit. Here are the recipes so you can make them at home!
White Lady Recipe
Ingredients
20ml Cointreau
20ml fresh lemon Juice, 45ml The Botanist Gin
egg white (optional)
Method
Combine all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Shake and
strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Side Car Recipe
Ingredients
25ml Cointreau,
15ml fresh lemon juice
45ml Remy Martin 1738 cognac
Method
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Wet rim with lemon and press into sugar. Shake vigorously with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Cointreau Fizz Recipe
Ingredients
50ml Cointreau
20ml fresh lemon juice
100ml sparkling water
Method
Fill a glass with ice, add Cointreau, the juice of half a lime and top off with sparkling water.
Garnish with the fruit or vegetable of your choice.
