In the world of customised luxury products, one name that always pops into our minds is Bamford. This family empire covers artisan clothing, body care, baby care, gifts and watches.

The watch side of the business is run by George Bamford, who has a passion for personalised luxury products and is answering a demand for distinctive and individual watches. Like himself, his clients are looking for luxury exclusivity.

The other day I was invited to visit the Bamford headquarters, an elegant townhouse in the heart of Mayfair, London. What an experience! The Bamford Watch Department creates unique timepieces using the latest technology and high-quality materials.

George says ‘ As a highly customer-oriented company we pride ourselves in taking great care of our clients, ensuring that their needs are the focus at every step of the way. Emphasis on personalisation is paramount, with our customers’ requests forming the bedrock of our business; it’s through these individual desires that our personalisation techniques really show their colours.’

But the experience doesn’t stop when you buy the watch, oh no! The expert Bamford watch team together with designers and technicians at ’The Hive’ are on point regarding customers needs aftercare of their prized watches.

Bamford Watches

I had the pleasure to handle some of them on my visit.
The watches are so elegant and carry some weight; there are no rattles, they are very stable – you can feel the quality. They are well made as you would expect, but there’s an element of fun at the same time. They all have a personality of their own that as a customer you can further modify it to your taste.

I was asked to review the new GTM, and I couldn’t say no. I was sent the grey-orange-black GMT – as vibrant and bold as me. Their watches are unisex, they are not delicate, they are striking looking, robust and make a statement.

This watch’s unique selling point is the automatic 24-hour GMT hand function with internal rotating bezel, allowing the customer to view a separate time zone, which makes it perfect for travellers like me!

I wore the watch for a week, and I can tell you it’s a talking point. Many people commented on it from the 24-hour GMT function to the unusual colour to curiosity to know about the personalisation. I believe the customisation to have no limits if you have the cash.

Talking about price, let’s get to the point everyone wants to know. This particular watch cost £1,100. It’s a masterpiece to treasure for life, very much like jewellery.

The Bamford Watch Department have other watches starting from £475.00, a collaboration featuring Peanuts, the cartoon – it’s very witty – I love it! There is something for every pocket and taste.
