Vinopolis – wine tasting in London Bridge

If you are looking for a last minute present for someone who’s got everything, a wine lover, an occasion, a treat or just a good fun night out this tasting experience is the solution. This month I enjoyed  the Vinopolis
Essential Wine Tasting Experience in London. This hidden winery is located underneath the amazing Victorian arches of London Bridge, the entrance next to the Cantina Vinopolis. This tasting event offers the opportunity to explore the discovery zone and find out about wines from all over the world. The tasting zones host over one-hundred wines, so plenty of choices for all tastes.  On arrival we had a 15-20 minutes introduction and we learnt how to taste wine. We also learn about how geography and the climate affect the taste and find out everything there is to know about wine production, taking you from grape to glass.
This self-service sampling, with tokens, and interactive tasting and educational zones, enables you to discover a huge range of wines of your choice, as well as Champagnes from prestigious Champagne house, Canard-Duchêne. There’s also a lovely and very busy Tapas Bar and the Discovery Zone, dedicated to the
contrasting historic and modern flavours of Georgian and English wines. Another choice is the spirits zone, so definitely something for everyone! Highly recommended!

“Hints of nuts and pastry on the nose are balanced by a palate which displays a lively green and red apple fruitiness. The finish demonstrates a clean lemon citrus edge with notes of vanilla spice.”

The very high tech and interactive wine taste profile – brilliant!
my palate scored 18, that’s extraordinary –  I was told!
self-service wine machine, a bit like coffee machines but pouring out wine instead.
The machine dispense about 50ml, so its a small sample of each wine.
We sampled 7 different wines.
