What a delightful evening preview of a Gin Masterclass and Steaks at London Marriott Hotel West India Quay. Having already reviewed the London Marriott Hotel County Hall here and Gillray’s in Central London I was curious to find out more about this outpost from the same hotel chain.
I can tell you I was not disappointed. This modern 5-star hotel is a stone’s throw from Canary Wharf Station, located in a clean-lined and contemporary building. On this particular occasion, I was invited to discover more about gin and afterwards a dinner at Manhattan Grill.

Gin Masterclass at G&Tea Lounge
The G&Tea is an inspiring masterclass taking place in the G&Tea Lounge, a dazzling bar overlooking Canary Wharf. The bar holds over 180 gins – the most extensive gin collection in the area. The gin masterclass is held the last Thursday of every month.
For one hour, which goes by quickly, a skilful bartender will take you through a journey of gin discovery.
You are presented with a taster of three very distinctive gins, highlighting the difference of botanicals and how best to garnish each of them.
The masterclass concludes with a very generous Gin and Tonic and a chance to discuss your new discovery with the bartender and the other attendees.

Situated a few steps from the G&Tea Lounge inside the London Marriott Hotel West India Quay, Manhattan Grill is a steakhouse serving cooked to perfection, delicious and juicy meats. The restaurant overlooks Canary Wharf quayside.
The wines paired with our steak meal were superb.

A variety of sauces are also available
The USDA beef is an American meat classification. It’s juicy and flavourful with a slightly coarse texture. It’s grain feed cattle, the meat is marbled and once cooked it develops a distinctive flavour.
The Scottish meats are super tender coming from the Highland and Aberdeen Angus Cattle. They were my favourite of the evening.

Manhattan Grill West India Quay is a beautiful place for dinner with fantastic views. My favourite cut of meat was the succulent and flavoursome Scottish Aberdeen Angus.
The service was spot on, courteous and knowledgeable.
A place dedicated to meat – I just loved it.
