There aren’t many things that make my jaw drop, but this experience was one of the best so far. I spent a night at the newly renovated Westminster Suite at the  London Marriott Hotel County Hall, to review the hotel and dine at their restaurant; in essence, to spend 24 hours there. At the check-in, I had no idea what was about to happen. Reception gave me a key to a room on the 6th floor; the key had a number. I looked around for a while until I realised the room itself had no number display on the door but a name, Westminster Suite. I tried the key, and it worked.

I was shocked and delighted with my accommodation.  Westminster Suite is a one-bedroom presidential suite, 135 square metres, and one of the top suites in London, and I was there to review it.

What a stunning view of the London skyline! From the Westminster Suite, you can see the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament’s iconic Elizabeth Tower, perhaps the most iconic London timepiece and one of the best-known monuments in the world. Beside these is the London Eye, and you have a full view of the Westminster Bridge and the Thames. It was fantastic seeing the changes in the river life throughout the day, from above and sipping wine.

The London Marriott Hotel County Hall is a beautiful property, well-maintained and thoughtfully designed. It is staffed with highly attentive personnel who are very friendly and discreet.

Some of the features I enjoyed at the Westminster Suite were a kitchen with a well-stocked fridge, a private dining space for 10 of your closest friends, lots of space and different seating areas, a loo for guests, a massive bathroom with his and hers basins, a sizeable bath and walk-in shower, a walk-in wardrobe and luggage space, and lots of luxury amenities.

Surprisingly, the prices of the white wine, which was Pays D’Oc (France), and bubbles, which was Nyemtimber (England), in the room were quite reasonable for a suite in Central London. Let’s put it this way: they were pub prices.

Staying at the Westminster Suite gives you access to the Marriott Executive Lounge, which offers complimentary drinks and snacks. You can have breakfast there, too. There’s a swimming pool and treatments to be had either in the spa or the suite.

Everything works intuitively and efficiently. The bedroom is massive and is furnished beautifully; the entire place is very well-appointed. The emperor-sized bed with firm mattress, with crisp white linen, provides ultra comfort. The bedroom carpet has a very stylish and modern black and grey pattern; the TV set was enormous—not that I had the time or the inclination to watch TV with that view from the suite window! The piece that caught my attention was the dresser. What a stunning piece of furniture!

The bathroom and the guest loo had an exciting and very fitting themed wallpaper, a black and white road map of central London. Excellent choice! I loved the towels; I frequently get disappointed with hotel towels, but there, they were white, super velvety, absorbent and in the right size. The Floris luxury soaps, bath shower, and creams amenities are available in the bathroom and the visitor’s loo.

The walk-in wardrobe held fluffy, snow-white bathrobes, a shoe shiner, slippers, a hairdryer, a stylish branded umbrella, etc. There was also a designated area for luggage. One of the best points of this suite is that you don’t hear the other guests—so much luxury and everything you need in the Suite.
I wanted to move in! Sadly, I had to leave the next day, and I stayed until check out time! What a fabulous staycation!

Breakfast at London Marriott Hotel County Hall

The Westminster Suite costs around £1,500 per night, including excellent breakfast and Marriot Club Lounge access. London Marriott Hotel County Hall also has other 12 smaller luxury suites and balcony Suites and four one-bedroom Executive Suites starting from £450 to £950 per night, but nothing beats the views and luxury of The Westminster Suite.

Now, I hear you saying, “I can’t afford the Westminster Suite.” I tell you, it’s an extraordinary place with stunning views and excellent service. I hear people get married in that suite; it’s that big! Book it for an exceptional occasion or birthday perhaps? The best thing is, after the celebration is over, you can stay overnight in luxury and have breakfast in the morning. That’s an excellent deal and an unforgettable stay!

Oh I do love the look of that shower! I have stayed at the Marriott County Hall recently and really enjoyed how they refurbished most of the rooms to look more modern!
